Gallo Pinto! 

Today we want to share with you one of the most traditional dishes that "Ticos" usually serve at breakfast which is Gallo Pinto, this is a mixture of rice and black beans served with eggs, sour cream, and some slices of fried plantain. People frequently drink orange juice or a cup of coffee with it.

Dear bloggers we have to confess you that we really love "Gallo Pinto" therefore, we would like to share with all of you our "Gallo Pinto’s recipe. These are the main ingredients:

• 1 lb (450 gr.) Black beans
• 8-10 sprigs cilantro (coriander leaf)
• 1 small or medium onion
• ½ small red or yellow sweet pepper (optional)
• 2 cups (350 ml) white rice
• ½ teaspoon (2.5 ml) salt
• 1-3 Tablespoon oil to fry the "Gallo Pinto"

The recipe for the “Gallo pinto”  is very simple!. You only need to mix the rice with the beans already cooked in a pan. Chop the cilantro, the pepper, the onions and the other ingredients. While you are frying the rice with the beans add all the ingredients including the salt and the oil. Cook it for at least 10 minutes and finally enjoy it. It may seem like a lunch for people from abroad, but in Costa Rica  is very traditional eat this at breakfast.
